Overview of Kallang River (Bishan - Braddell)

ABC Waters @ Kallang River between Bishan Road and Braddell Road has incorporated a variety of design elements in four stretches along the river.

At Bishan Road, a 100-metre stretch of the canal wall has softened using planters and creepers. Within the channel, a 410-metre long stream meanders around a planter island. Further on, visitors are greeted by cascading water as the stream widens and passes over a series of cascades to meet a permanent body of water. Cantilevered decks along the river bring residents closer to water.  ABC Waters features such as rain gardens are also added to cleanse rainwater runoff before it is discharged into the waterway.

As part of the makeover, PUB and NParks has co-developed the Kallang Linear Park between Bishan Stadium and Blk 165 Bishan Street 13.
