Work with Us towards a Sustainable Water Future

PUB works closely with various stakeholders such as schools, corporates, grassroots and non-governmental organisations to reach out to a wide range of Singaporeans about our nation’s Water Story, including our efforts in coastal and flood resilience amidst the impacts of climate change, encourage Singaporeans to play our part towards water sustainability and advocate for the water cause.

Get Involved

Read on to learn how we are working with our stakeholders and how you can be a part of it.

We welcome businesses and companies to contribute and champion the water cause with us.

Through the years, PUB has worked alongside businesses and companies to build an appreciation for the environment and to protect our water resources. Companies can contribute in the following ways:

  • Educate employees on water sustainability and keeping our waterways clean.
  • Adopt water efficient practices in daily operations.
  • Participate in PUB's key events such as Singapore World Water Day.
  • Organise learning journeys to Marina Barrage.
  • Collaborate with schools and NGOs on educational programmes.
  • Initiate water-centric activities or programmes.

Our close cooperation with Grassroots fosters community ownership for the water cause.

Grassroots play an important role as one of our multipliers to encourage residents to take ownership of our precious water resource and use water wisely. Grassroots also helps to raise awareness among residents the importance of keeping our drains and waterways clean, for example, by organising clean-up events.

We collaborate with non-government organisations (NGOs) to spread our water messages to more communities and networks.

Waterways Watch Society (WWS)

A volunteer group formed in 1998, WWS aspires to bring the community together to love our waters and inspire stewardship for our environment. Their volunteers have been working with PUB to care for the waterways. Some activities include:

  • Marina Bike Learning Trail: Participants cycle along Marina Reservoir and learn about the history, culture and biodiversity of the area.
  • The "River Monster" Programme: Students are taught to appreciate Singapore's waterways and participate in a clean-up activity at Marina Reservoir.
  • Assembly/Corporate Talks: Participants can discover Singapore’s Water Story and various water-related environmental issues such as litter pollution and climate change through an engaging and interactive talks.

Nature Society (Singapore) (NSS)

NSS is dedicated to the appreciation, conservation, study and enjoyment of the natural heritage in Singapore, Malaysia and the region. NSS volunteers work closely with PUB to conduct programmes such as organising quarterly bird watching walks for the community at Kranji Marshlands and Lorong Halus Wetland, and conducting biodiversity surveys to improve bird habitats at Kranji Marshlands

In recognition of their contribution to the water cause, NSS was presented the Watermark Award 2012.

We work with schools to educate students on Singapore’s water story and promote consciousness on water sustainability and encourage positive behaviours.

From pre-schools through primary, secondary and up to tertiary institutes, our series of programmes and activities are tailored for various levels to inculcate the importance of conserving, valuing and enjoying our water resources. Learn how PUB works closely with schools and the Ministry of Education to educate students on the water journey.
