A 270-metre section of Alexandra Canal Subsidiary Drain ‘A’, located between Alexandra Road and Alexandra Canal linear park, has been transformed into a scenic waterway under the ABC Waters Programme. Decks are constructed over the canal to serve as community spaces and improve the connectivity between the housing estate and the amenities in the vicinity. ABC Waters design features, such as rain gardens are incorporated in the design to cleanse rainwater runoff from the surrounding before it is discharged into the canal. Together with the additional greenery along the canal, the rain garden beautifies the environment and promotes biodiversity in the area.
Let’s remember to do our part to keep our waterways clean by not littering. Any litter thrown onto the ground can be washed into our drains and canals, affecting the water quality of our reservoirs.
