Be a Flood-Wise Pedestrian

Whether it’s taking an alternative route or using an umbrella to check how deep a murky puddle is before taking your next step, there are many ways you can be Flood-Wise while you’re on the move!

  • Follow PUB flood alert channels and plan your travel to avoid flooded areas.
  • Do not walk into flooded areas.
  • See a flooded area ahead? Turn back and move immediately to higher ground as floodwaters may rise suddenly. Stay there until the flood subsides.
  • Do not walk through moving water that is above ankle height, as it can cause you to fall.
  • If you have to walk through water, walk where the water is not moving. Use a stick or umbrella to check for open drains and firmness of the ground in front of you.
