Frequently Asked Questions

We are seeking companies, researchers, and innovators who can develop solutions to address our challenges. Applicants can be located anywhere in the world, but they must have an interest in developing and testing their solutions with PUB in Singapore during and after the Challenge.

You are welcome to submit proposals for more than one challenge statement by preparing separate applications for each proposal. However, please ensure that each proposal is tailored to address the specific challenge statement it intends to tackle. Please note that the challenge statements have different operational departments as challenge owners, so it is important to take this into account when preparing your proposals. 

Please contact the organisers at pub_research@pub.gov.sg with the specific changes you wish to make. However, substantive changes to the application after the closing date will not be entertained.

The following are the evaluation criteria for Global Innovation Challenge. Please note that there will evaluation considerations that is specific to each challenge statement. 

The evaluation process may take 3 to 5 months, as it consists of multiple stages involving different levels of stakeholders within PUB. Please be aware that shortlisted applicants may be contacted via email to clarify and/or present their proposals as part of the evaluation process.

The winners of the PUB Global Innovation Challenge will receive initial funding of up to SG$250,000 for each pilot project. If the pilot project proves to be successful, the contributing entities will have access to additional funding for further development and testing, or contracts for deployment of the solution.

The pilot project can commence after the winners successfully enter a contract with PUB. The contracting process could take up to three months depending on the complexity of the project.
